Q: If there’s a day I will not be able to attend, what do I do?
A: We ask that you attend a minimum of 4 out of the 6 camp days. Please inform the Camps and Volunteer Coordinator of any anticipated absences ahead of time, via the volunteer intake form. Once camp is in session, if you are sick or unable to attend, please contact us to inform them by texting/calling (520.343.6428) or emailing Camps@IntegrativeTouch.org
Q: What are the volunteer hours? Am I required to come early / stay late?
A: Half day volunteers should arrive at 8am and plan to stay until 12:30pm. Full day volunteers should arrive at 8am and plan to stay until 4:15pm. * Please note this information is specific to Animals Camp April / May 2026.
Q: What if I do not have experience working with kids with disabilities?
A: That is okay! Volunteers will take part in an orientation in addition to trainings throughout the camp at the open and close of each session. Most important is a genuine willingness to connect, along with the patience, playfulness, and openness to support people whose experiences or abilities may differ from your own.
Q: Is there an age requirement to volunteer?
A: We welcome adult volunteers of any age, and youth volunteers ages 13 & up!
Q: Will I be by myself with kids?
A: You will never be alone or unsupported with campers. We always have a group of volunteers, plus interns, as well as camp staff.
Q: What if I am interested in volunteering at the center, but would rather not support during camps with kids? Are there other volunteer opportunities?
A: Yes! We have a variety of other opportunities to volunteer at InTouch. Please contact our Program Community Development Director, Andi Hammonds, at 520-812-6340.
